Power tungsten is supply for superior carbide rods. Our advanced pressing and shaping systems give us the flexibility to offer numerous grades and sizes of rods, materials with maximum mechanical properties. We stock ungrounded, utility ground rods that are pressing and shaping, without pits and flaws. Our ground rods are available in both standard and precision-ground finishes, and we supply ground and unground rod in 2.0 - 38.5 mm. diameter and larger- up to 320 mm. in length. All of our rods are mechanically and/or hydrostatically pressed, and rods in 10% and 12% micro grain are available in stock.
Properties & Application of Main Grades
H10F Extra-fine grain Cemented Carbide Grade for Rotary Tools
H10F is recommended for solid carbide rotary tool applications in the ISO K20/K30 range.
It has special advantages where high toughness and sharp edge profiles are needed.
Applications
Grade H10F grade has an exceptionally wide application range and is recommended for: • Low cutting speeds, high feed rates (HSS range),interrupted cutting. • End mills, Drills, Routers and Burs. • The machining of steels, cast iron; stainless and heat resistant steel; nickel based and titanium aerospace alloys.
H12F
Cemented carbide grade has been developed to improve productivity in troublesome and demanding endmilling operations.
This new grade maintains the same tungsten carbide grain size as our widely used H10F but has a slightly greater cobalt content which gives it greater edge toughness in those operations requiring better edge security and reliability.
The wear resistance of H12F in the absence of chipping is rather similar to that of H10F which means that its improved toughness brings little or no wear resistance penalty.
Applications
• Rough endmilling with wavy or gashed edge swarf splitting geometries. • High production rough endmilling of soft or toughened steel, but not recommended for fully hardened steel. • Secure milling of austenitic stainless. • Safe alternative for titanium and solution treated nickel alloys. • Secure in full width slot milling
